Linked is a picture showing a comparison between the original Brewster Green on my 1941 Chevy half ton (protected interior area, lightly buffed) and two modern formulations. The upper paint sample is from Jim Carter's and the lower one is from autocolorlibrary. Jim Carter's is very close but in bright light looks slightly yellower. Autocolorlibrary is far darker and much too blue. It is worth noting that the exposed, weathered paint on my truck exterior has darkened and become more bluish/grayish with age, so I suspect autocolorlibrary may have matched to a weathered sample.

Van Sickle has a Brewster Green too. I wonder how it would match up.

I was rather intrigued when I saw this question, I did not realize that they still refered to "Brewster Green" as an automotive color this far removed. Brewster was a carriage manufacturer, and of course thier "Brewster Green" was their own color, vastly copied. Today Carriage restorers (yes, this is a large ongoing industry)still use the Brewster green color. I know one place that sells paint for carriages, but also for metal applications, is Schwartz Mfg. in Berne,IN. 574 - 642 - 1257. You will probably need to leave a message, but they will get back with you. I have not used it, but they have been around for awhile. They may have a better color match to what you want.

If you want a modern PPG code/formula/offset-color, the Ditzler/PPG code is given in the Auto Color Library. 1-800-647-6050 might still be the PPG Color Library phone number.

Codes are also given at PaintRef.com
