Hello everyone it's been a while since I've been on but I got another project.... That's driving me CRAZY! I'm in the process of building another bolt (helping a friend) and installed a 4.3 TBI with a NV3500 5 speed manual trans. I've rebuilt both engine and trans and it runs & shifts great but when the clutch is disengaged it makes a ticking sound, if I just rest my foot on the clutch pedal it stops? It's got a new flywheel, clutch, pressure plate& throwout and pilot bearing.
It sounds like maybe the throwout bearing and I sure don't want to pull it to replace a new part with a new part.
Does anyone know what this "tick" might be and a "easy" fix??? Lol

You may need to pull it and replace that release bearing.I have had to do that once or twice in my life. It is not uncommon to have a defective bearing in a clutch kit. If you do go that far, have a look at the fingers on the presser plate.make sure that they are all compressed evenly. If any number of them are not the same height then the pressure plate is a problem. So, a couple of things to look for. Hope this helps

Yea.... I think I'm going to replace the whole cluch kit with a AC Delco kit. That's what I get for trying to save a few bucks by buying a cheap one.
Thanks for the reply
(O'Reilly's auto-parts better not sweat me on a refund) grrrrr.... Lol
