I appreciate your advise. What diameter exhaust did you use? You might want to got to YouTube and search for "235 exhaust" audio clips, the deep mellow sound you like may not be at all what the next fella considers deep and mellow. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%20235%20exhaust&sm=3 | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | Mufflers for a CJ7 with a 304V8 (also used on some years of Cadillac with the 500) will give you the sound you're after.

Longbox55 in your youtube clip Ridin' with LB Is that the set up you were talking about? What size was the inlet, what size outlet, and what kind of mufflers? I am running Fenton's both intake and exhaust. Was that dual mufflers and was an x or h pipe used? It did not seem too loud for the cab.

It's 2" on both the inlet and outlet. I don't recall the part numbers, but the mufflers are Walker stock replacement, nothing fancy. The balance of the system is 2" Cherry Burrell stainless, with 2 1/2" tips. It can be a bit noisy if I lay in the throttle hard, but just normal driving it's really not too bad.

I also have a taller tire that stock, 30" vs the 27" stock size. It's somewhat hard to hear it happen in the vid, but I did let it drop into 2nd-over before I went for 3rd-over. I'm very pleased with the combo, I can run highway speeds without getting over 2700 rpm (approx 75 mph) and still have some to spare.

I have a three chamber (?) flowmaster I got off a truck I bought on my 250 six right now with it all the way the end of the pipe, and it has a real nice deep diesel-like rumble with no "rap" (actually rattles all the windows and other loose objects hanging on the truck at 1,000RPM or so). I may post a little clip if I have one.
Also: "What I have is a Whoop Whoop sound..." lol, I love it.
