The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Panels 'N Burbs 1942 GMC suburban

Anyone know about whether or not there were GMC carryall/suburbans built in 1942? How would you tell if they were actually a GMC and not a Chevy with a GMC front clip? were the frames the same in that year, with the exception of the front crossmember? Would the GMC have a different tail light setup? Any help would be appreciated.

Other then a picture or two of this is all I could find about the '42. It seems like most vehicles most went to the war effort.

Production continued until the switch to wartime production began in early 1942. Most Suburbans wore steel bodies, but there were a few that were given fashionable wooden bodywork from specialist companies.

There were only a handful of 1/2 ton civilian chassis in '42 and this is a legitmate '42 war production GMC Suburban based on the chassis stamping serial number. UBER rare!
