I want to add a new (modern) oil pressure sensor to my 235 engine block.
What options do I have? | | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 1,747 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 1,747 | One option is to add a compression "T". That way you can use the old gauge and a new one if you like. Same fittings as the "new" plastic line would use. Check with your local FLAPS. The other option would be a compression union to mate the new gauge to the old line. Only one gauge that way. I hope that is helpful. FYI: that little tiny oil line will let a LOT of oil out real fast so make sure the connections don't leak.

Good Luck

If you mean replace with a new modern one, and you don't care if it fits into gauge cluster, get an electrical set. Gauge and sender and wire. Install sender in old port area and Install gauge in some neat place. No leaky.

Shape of a "T", three ports for attaching three tubes/pipes, same as PVC fitting only brass and small. Threaded for what ever you are attaching. Flare, compression, pipe, etc. There are elbows (els), couplings, Tee's... for all plumbing types. See the internet for pics.

Steve's got it though. Just screw the manual gauge direct into the end of the T in his photo so you can read pressure outside the cab. Run the other line into the cab.
Good luck
