I followed the instructions on juliano's website and put 3 point seat belts in my 48 3100 today and all went well. I noticed these instructions were from you.

Put the seat belts in. The center female end barely sticks out from between the seat cushions. And there would not be enough seat belt for a big (healthy sized) person.

Is this what you have found?

Has anyone installed 3 point seat beasts in your 47-53 1/2 ton truck? Did you experience this? Where did you mount your center belt?

Can you not put a spacer in to bring up that belt? I haven't done this, but as it's a custom installation, I would think that you might need to do a little thinking to find a solution.

Yes. And I do improvise on most projects. I also know seat belts were not an option. But do not want anyone to fly around the metal cab or do a windshield face plant. I don't like improvising on this. I could either raise up the floor mount or install an L bracket.

Again. I wanted to know if this is a common issue. And, what others have run into.

Maybe they have or can make a longer belt?

Here is what I did with my 3 point belts from Juliano's. My primary concern was to get a more direct pull for the belt. I didn't feel comfortable with it weaving through the seat cushions and frame. I used a piece of angle iron to raise the attachment point above the floor and cut a slot in the seat frame for the belt to pass through. I used small pieces of a plastic binder spline as a chafe guard to insure the seat frame didn't cut the seat belt. seatbelt mounting

However, do you think that all the eBay illustrations are correct? This one gives the wrong impression, I think.

I put the angled bracket above the floor and the cupped plate under the floor (as shown in the upper left insert-photo).

I agree. The reinforcing plate lip should point down - not the way they are showing it in the first picture.

It's funny about some of the instructions I create, I haven't had a chance to enjoy or evaluate them yet. It used to be the PCV upgrade on my website, now that that is checked off as working perfectly, I am pleased to hear that it worked on the seatbelts as well. Some of these modifications I am reading on this thread sound like a good idea. Cool! Once my cab is done, in the next 8 months or so, I have lots to do on it, I will look the seatbelts over again, find this thread and incorporate your ideas. Right now, I am putting two sliding drawers under the seat, locking of course, a fire extinguisher mount and a dual MC locking door. Stay tuned!
