Dealing with a mile long snake-like piece of rubber covered in sticky snot is hard enough to put on the door when it is on a bench, let alone trying to do it when its on the truck. I would take the door off and do it. You can't get enough practice uninstalling/reinstalling/adjusting doors to qualify as an expert at it. The problems with these @%#$&@ &*)*%$# (can you guess the words?)is you can't stretch them as you install them, and once it sticks , it is stuck. Doing it with the door on the truck has been a nightmare for me in the past.
