Suburbans were about 7% (about 15,000) of the 1/2 ton truck production in 1950.
Suburbans were about 4% (about 6,600) of the 1/2 ton truck production in 1953.
So, the Suburbans were less common than pickup trucks and also less common than panel trucks.
The Suburbans originally cost 20% more than a pickup - I do not know if that has anything to do with their present day availability. Draw your own conclusions.
