I had a 235 engine leaking water into the pan after a rebuild turned out to be the temperature gauge reduction bushing, the mechanical heat tube would not seat tight to the bushing seat, so water would flow out around the heat tube onto the top of the head and run back down into pan, rocker cover was off engine.
