Hi everyone,
I have a '63 3/4 ton and a '63 1 ton.
My plan is to combine both trucks and put either a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton 4x4 frame underneath.
The information I need the most right now is which years is a frame a direct swap with no fabrication.
I know that with the '73 - 87'(I believe) the frame raises up where the cab mounts and you have to do some cutting and fabrication. I don't really want to do that much work.
My next question is, if I do have to go the fabrication route. How hard is it? Has anyone done it? Does anyone have a tutorial or steps to follow?
Another question, if I stick with 2WD, is it super difficult to switch from 8 bolt axles to 6 bolt? Perhaps from a 90s C/K?
Sorry for all the questions but I would like to gather parts during the winter when people are just looking to basically throw them away.
