Can anyone tell me if and or how the running boards attach to the under side of the cab of a 1934 1/2 ton pick up? I have made the cab floor from scratch out of sheet metal and done away with the old wood cab "foundation". Also, if they attach to the cab is there anything separating the metal parts to prevent rubbing and squeaking? Is this a home made rubber gasket?

Any help would be welcome.
