Hello I have a 1941 1/2 ton pickup with a 1940 216 engine and 4 speed trans. My 40 block has a 3 inch freeze crack that seeps antifreeze. A friend of mine has a 1946 engine with the bell housing, flywheel, Clutch, head and oil pan on it. He said the water pump and rocker assembly is missing on his. I haven't seen the engine yet and he's not sure if its a 216 or a 235 block. My question is is it possible to swap out the two engines and still use the original 4 speed trans? If the other engine is a 235 will that go in my 41 with the 4 speed trans? Here is a picture of the 40 engine I removed from my truck.
