Hello,
I finally got new tires on my 1948 Chevy 2 ton COE. I also had the wheels powder coated. I wanted to take my truck on the highway to see how it rides with new tires and to see if I could drive the "Brownie".
Well, I need help. The Brownie model is M-45 Serial # 013737. It has a stamped # C30-15118-7 on the left side of the case. It also has a casting #C30-22-25 on the front of the case.
The information I've gathered, is that it's a 3 speed… It has an under drive, a drive and an overdrive. I need the basics, how and when to shift! I've been driving it with the Brownie in "Drive" (one to one ratio) I'd like to learn how to run through all the gear.
I've searched the Internet for information but, haven't had any luck. Does anyone have a "user manual" or personal experience with this type of transmission? I would greatly appreciate any help.
I've posted a couple of pictures of the "Brownie" on my Flickr.
Lisa
