According to my GM parts manual
1941 to 1961 Chev 3/4 ton & 1 ton
trucks use:
GM # 3708961with the finger diameter of
.773 "We all make our own choices of
replacement parts for our old trucks.
I'm a
GM NOS ( new old stock ) parts
guy.
Especially when it comes to
ANY kind of
Bearing: Clutch Release, Wheel, Axle, Trans,
Generator, Driveshaft, etc.
I see right here on stovebolt how
the made in china bearings are
in my opinion...junk .
I want made right here in the USA
preferably GM NOS.
You may have to pay a higher price for NOS
parts. Price is not always my bottom line.
Everyone to their own way of doing things.
I'm not looking to get into any debate with
you guy's that prefer the cheaper made in china parts.
As they say, 'have it your way'.
I purchased a GMC U-Joint repair kit on ebay.
GMC # 2330781. This part is
the same U-Joint
as GM # 3708961.
So, you can replace your U-Joints with good old
GM NOS made in the USA parts.
