I just replaced the kingpins and kingpin bushings on my 1956 half-ton. When I went to re-install the passenger side brake drum, the castle nut won't go far enough down on the spindle for me to insert the cotter pin. It looks like the drum is on as far as it's supposed to go. No new parts are involved (except the kingpins and bushings). I don't see anything holding the drum up. I tried tightening the castle night fairly tight and then backing off but it doesn't make any difference. Anyone have any ideas about what's going on here?
By the way, I haven't tried to install the driver's side drum, so I don't know if there's a problem there or not.
