I have been reading how to adjust my carb and my timing using a pressure gauge. So, I thought I would give it a try today. I hooked my brand-new gauge to my windshield wiper tap on the intake manifold. This is on a stock, rebuilt 216. I expected to see somewhere between 15-20". To my surprise the gauge almost pegged at 30"!!!! Is this possible? Bad gauge? I looked and looked and looked to make sure that I was reading it right. And, yep, I am reading it correctly. It goes back to zero when I remove vacuum, and back to a steady 30" when I reconnect. What am I doing wrong?
