Thanks, all of you for the info ..... mine must have a 41 door as the VIN number checks out with a 46' (DR which corresponds to the 3600 series peculiar to 1946, I think I'm right on that as I checked both stovebolt and old ride websites before purchasing the truck), so it must be a 1941 door and the next question is: Can I retrofit a lock on that door? And will I be able to use the existing internal door mechanism?
