I'm not familiar with the MAD kit, but assume you are using the remote solenoid to switch battery voltage to the foot starter (why).
Would it be possible the coil in the solenoid is burned or open. If the purple wire is the pull in for the solenoid coil, maybe it is shorted to ground and that is why you are only showing 6 volts. If the solenoid doesn't 'click' when powered, it isn't getting voltage or it is defunct. Some of the solenoids have a manual button on top that allows you to close the switch by hand!
