Update: I know I didn't start this thread but I thought I might offer an update in relation to the use of 4° caster shims (as suggested by Drapal) and its effect on wander and bump steer.
I rebuilt or replaced everything on the front end of my '53 1/2 ton
(here) but was still wandering all over the road. Replaceing the original shims with the 4° shims helped out quite a bit. Not a LOT, but still quite a bit. The improvement was well worth the expense
