old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! The windows are all out. The interior parts including seats and glass are out and everything has been primed. The big dent in side has been pulled out and looks great. The seat frames have been painted and now at upholsterer getting seats finished. As expected, there was rust damage on passenger side floor and has to be fixed.. The driver front floor had been patched earlier. Wife says cheaper to buy boots with steel heels to step thru floorboard and drag the Burb to a stop! Will get it fixed. Re glass, think I said earlier went to Phoenix salvage yard and checked out 3 60-61 Burbs (out of over 1000 Junkers) slider window frames. All had rusted bottoms like mine. Have decided to take the back sliders on each side, cut out the tops and weld as new bottoms on the middle sliders, then put solid flat panel glass in back. I don't have a 3rd seat anyway. Went to the Truck Shop in Orange,CA last week and ordered all new rubber and channels for the side windows. They still won't ship a new front windshield, so still looking. Heading back up the hill Monday and taking pictures, Hope to post soon. | | | |
