I need a bulb. One for the overhead interior light that has two terminals and the little "teets" lined up - not offset like a regular dual filament bulb (think 1157).
Soooo: I grind off one teet just to get a bulb to fits and it turns out to my surprise that the same bulb-filament for this application must run to both terminals and the brass must not be used as a ground. The 12VDC flows into one term of the bulb and out the other through a wire to ground at the rheostat.
If I put in a regular bulb with a "base grounded filament" the light always stays on since the switch is on the ground side and the grounded bulb short-cuts it.
