Transition year question. Can anyone help in identifying a "1953 235" block as either a splash/babbit vs a high pressure 235? This is a block said to be for a car, but not sure if auto or standard trans.
In a 1953, would a high pressure 235 have a tall or a short side cover? Is a tall cover always a reliable indicator of splash/babbit 216 or 235 and a short cover always a full pressure 235? Or did first year high pressure 235 still have the tall cover?
Also How many head bolts? Compatible with a 216 head? or a later 235 head?
