At least we figured it out Bill. Now, to your ideas.. I'm pretty far along with mine although my goal was/is to keep things as stock as I can live with. My truck's in paint shop prison for the next month or so... Anyway, I do have some pics on my sig link you are welcome to look at. I rebuilt my brakes and they work very well (for huck brakes) and my steering does fine and everything is in good condition. If not, I might have been tempted to go another route.
I would like to see what you wind up with. It seems you are not doing anything other's haven't so you should get some great advise here.
I would recommend keeping your old parts (or at least selling some to a fellow 3600 owner of the same vintage.. like.... hum)
