Before I rebuilt my '48 235 I only had 4 long keepers, 2 big washers, and two nuts with lock washers holding my manifolds to the engine. Today I was able to find two short keepers at my local yard.
Were these used on all models? I feel that I have seen many trucks with only the long keepers and then washers.
I measure the bolts I have and compared them with lengths called out in a previous post 2 7/8 & 1 3/8, I have 1 7/16. What is the correct size?
What should be placed behind the nuts securing the manifolds to the head? I previously had a lock nut and lock washer, should there be a washer as well?
