Pat,,,,I have wasted two almost new battery's on my 52 because of a power drain,, never could find the problem so I have a quick disconnect switch on mine. so yes you can drain a good battery dry....it may also show 12 volts and still be bad.........

you get a disconnect switch cheap. better then ruining your batter till you can find your problem..
