Hey funtime, hope your health issues are behind you. Working on these old trucks just might be the right therapy to keep you going. You may want to pose this question in the driveline forum, I can't answer your question. I know what I did, changed out the rear gears for a 3.55 set-up from Patrick's from Arizona. I can easily cruise at highway speeds, can even hit 80 mph.
