you can put 15 wires from the power supply point to the powered item and what you get is exactly the same voltage with the ability to carry more current, so no you can't turn 6 volts into 12 by running 2 wires .... but if you already have a hot wire to the gauge, then there's no need to run another, that would be for a test with no other wiring
