| | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 255 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 255 | So.... the dipstick tube on my 1959 235 has picked up some dents along the way and its difficult as heck to get the dipstick in and out of the tube. I've heard that 3/8 brakeline makes a good replacement tube and that there should be about 6" of tube above the block (I'll replicate mine exactly).
To the question: Is the tube fixed to the block somehow? Or is it just pressed in? I've taken vise-grips and dynamite to the darn thing and just can't get it to loosen up. Any advice?
