As 52Carl stated improving the intake side and not the exhaust side does seem a little silly to me but there are more experienced Stovebolter's here that can answer you better. Since you talked with Tom I would call Patrick Sr. and ask him. I bought the dual intake from Patrick's, the pair of Carter/Webber carbs from Tom, and also purchased the split manifold headers from E-Bay.
Just make sure if you decide to use your original exhaust manifold that it fits on the new intake.
Make sure you keep the heat to the intake manifold weather its exhaust heat or hot water. I think Tom likes hot water and Patrick likes exhaust.
It you have an oil by-pass filter on you 235 I think you will have to relocate the filter since the intake is round and the Fenton is square. I am not sure what years has what but on my 56 I had to make a bracket for it. On the first since that picture I welded on an end cap and had it powder coated.
