One thing you can be sure is that the procedures used in 1936 (pre WW-2) and 1947, after all the years of war time mass production, were different.
When possible, I have the frame powder coated and do the rest of the parts in Eastwood chassis black to match (65-75% gloss or 85% gloss) depending on the powder coat chosen.
Otherwise all paint, either the "extreme" or the Ceramic.
You only want to do this once in the life of the vehicle, use something that will last.
