Just like redlegs says, GM put Dum-dum (body seam sealer) behind the hinge to keep
water from leaking into the interior of the cab. Common to all
of the AD's. Just get some from you local body shop supply or
FLAPS and apply it generously around the bolt holes before you
bolt the hinges back on the cowl.
