Hi, I have been using your product for years. I have always used it on projects that I have never kept too long after restoration and I have not kept in touch with the buyers to know how the paint is holding up. I recently bought a 1954 Chevy 3100 pickup that I was planning on keeping for a long while. I am doing an engine swap and cleaned the engine bay, (wire wheeled, wire brushed, sanded, and ospho'd) the entire thing including the inside hood that I removed. It has left a really nice grippy surface on which to apply paint on to on most of it but some of it where it seemed to had been ospho'd too thickly or where there was existing paint has turned into a slimy almost gooey mess. There is nothing in the instructions that mentions this occurring. It talks about a chalky residue that can be brushed off which I have seen in the past but not this. What can I do to prep these slimy areas for paint so that the paint sticks. There is no way that any paint will stick to this. Please help.
What do I do guys? I have been doing some research but nothing has really come up. It's been mentioned to re-ospho and clean with dish soap and dry quickly. I thought of maybe brake clean right after. I am up for suggestions cause I know that anyone that has used this product any length of time has faced this at some point. Thanks again for the help.
