My '38 has one fuse from the factory, on the ammeter. Every accessory (heater, defroster, fog lights, radio, etc.) has it's own in-line fuse. My headlight/taillight circuit is fused by the main fuse which isn't really a good idea but I haven't added an in-line fuse to that circuit. Basically anything drawing power should be fused.
