So my 65 is back together and running beautifully. The temp gauge was reading HOT after it warmed up and I shot the engine with a laser temperature gauge and it was running right where it should be so I knew it really wasn't hot. I wanted to get the gauge reading correctly because if it ever did run hot I would want to know before it was too late. Doing some reading about the original gauges some had said that the newer temperature senders in combination with the older gauges would a lot times not show correct readings. I went to http://www.lectriclimited.com/ and got one that they claimed was calibrated for the older gauges. It worked! My gauge is now reading correctly. Just thought I'd pass it on incase anyone else has run into this problem.
