Thanks for the help guys...got it working...very simple....the new knob was too far on the stick, and was preventing the switch from closing when installed..I took the know off, pushed the stick all the way in, reset the knob and now it works fine...except for blowing a fuse when I forgot to turn the key off when I installed it!!!
