For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 91 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 91 | I am putting the 3 speed column shift back in my 49 Chevy truck. I was wondering how far the upper column is screwed in so when the shifter is lifted to go into reverse. I don't want to get it together and find I do not have enough travel to change gears. Also how do I line up the gear shift linkage so I am in the right gears? This is the linkage from the steering column to the rods to the transmission.
Thanks
