I have never had a 4 sp in my truck, but I seem to remember someone saying to take the shifter out and fill from there. It is easier when trans is in the truck already.
I would think that the trans is no different than the 3sp and has a plug on the side, fill to the point where oil just reaches the bottom of the plug hole.
