I think you explained what I didn't understand about the voltmeter. It is merely a battery/charging monitor. Maybe that's why Detroit found the idea of a voltmeter more attractive than a ammeter...if John Q Public knew how much current his Dolby triple bypass digital amp was drawing, he would commit suicide.
