I bought a early model 47 for my son and I to work on for his first truck. We bought it off the second owner who bought it in 1962 and drove it fo 5 years then parked it in a garge until we came along. After we got it home and started planning and after looking at pics online we noticed something wasn't right the bed and rear fenders don't look like all the other 47's. After doing some measuring and research we figured out it is a 53 bed.The spare tire on the side helped us with that. So we are probably going to sell the bed and put the correct one on it "it a shame because the previous owner made this cool fiberglass bed cover for it in the 60's" he likes the 47 fenders. We put a battery in the truck and fired it up so he could here it run and that's as far as we got.
