Looking at it I'm guessing the hose was meant to "circulate" the gear oil between the tranny and OD. I'm almost 100% certain that wasn't my grandfathers doing and was the work of the other family member that liked to bubba things. I'll try and get pics of it up tonight when I hit the house.
