I would not count on a 12 volt relay working reliably on a 6 volt truck.

I would suggest positioning the horn relay where it minimizes the length of the wire between the horn and the source of power for the horn.

Also that article referenced above is suggesting wire sizes based on a 12 volt system. Use bigger wire (lower numbered) for a 6 volt system.
