Since I do not possess the ability to work on one thing at a time, I have decided to takle some minor rusting issues along with replacing some sheet metal on the front end.
I don't think the paint is original, the PO never touched it so I know it is at least 20 years old. All I want to do is clean up the areas where the paint is peeling/rusting then put something down to protect the metal.
Is there a tool that allows me to clean up the rust but not risk the other areas?
After removing the rust I was thinking of covering the original paint, spraying some red primer over the bare area, then wet sanding to try and blend the areas in. I am definitely open to other options.
