putting in a new speedometer cable in 48 gmc 1/2 ton, the end going into speedometer, has a bell type fitting, does it just slip over and stay in place, i see in back of speedometer has a shaft with threads on it, put old cable and new cable don't have threaded nut on that side of cable...
