Thanks for the advice and it is competed. I had to cut the tip off, filed the edges down and started the re-threading. Once it grabbed hold, it felt like a was screwing on a nut with a few snags. With a little lube spray, turning 1/4 back and forth, it didn't take any time to finish it up.
