R-Bo, the electronics part is actually the simplest part of the swap: make sure you get the computer and harness that go with the engine-trans combo, have computer reprogramed and harness modified by a good shop, and it is plug-and-play! And not necessarily more money than switching to carb and distributor.
I have dealt with a place called Speartech for all this: friendly guy, great service.
