I have a smallblock with a 'one wire' alternator in my 52 Chevy 3100. The alternator usually does not start charging until I race the engine, then it charges normally and heeps up with the headlights, engine cooling fan, and etc. until I shut off the engine.
Maybe a bad regulator? Anyone have any ideas of how to check out the system?
