Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,636 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,636 | Many of the larger drum/hub assemblies the lug bolt had long splines on them and would go through both the hub and the drum. So to separate the drum from the hub you may have to knock out the lug bolts to do so.
The screws held everything together while the lug bolts were put into place.
A lot of the newer hub/drum assemblies can be separated easily, but most of the older ones have to have the lug bolts removed to separate them.
