Assumptions: Regulator has 4 terminals (F,2,3,4), Alternator has 4 terminals (BAT, R, F, GRD) and you have an ammeter.
10 ga wire from BAT on alt to + on ammeter.
14 ga wire from R on alt to 2 on regulator.
14 ga wire from F on alt to F on regulator.
10 ga wire from GRD on alt to chassis ground.
Connect terminals 3 and 4 on regulator together and run 14 ga wire to ignition.
