You can drop your truck !
Check out Early Classic Enterprises. They have springs that are shorter, however they still have the original spring rate.
You can safely drop the truck with 2" shorter than original springs. I have had them on my 71 for nearly 3 years now with no problems. I use it everyday for my daily driver to work and parts chaser on the weekends.
If you want to drop 3" then you can go with a 1" shorter than original spring and also use a dropped spindle.
