I have restored many 2 cyl. John Deere Tractors. This is my first attempt on a big truck (1957 GMC 370 LCF 2 1/4 Ton.) I am using close to the same procedure on it. When I bought it, it ran good, would work in all gears, BUT, NO BRAKES. I started by completely rebuilding the brakes, so I will be able to actually drive it to find any other major problems. Then: Decision time, do I sell it or restore it? If there seems to be no major problems with steering, engine, trans, rear end, Then tear down and begin the restoration.
